Guest Testimonials

Slate Hill was everything we expected and more. It is way more than depicted in the website ad. the seclusion, beauty and natural setting were great. We hoped to return soon.

We had a very pleasant time here at Ocean Vista Cottage.  We tasted fog and rain and sun. Very relaxing place! One week is not enough!  The Beach was tasteful!  Hope we will come again! Un Gros Merci!

We have stayed at this Sea Star Cottage on several occasions. It is a lovely and tranquil spot to get recharged and enjoy a vacation. It is very private and yet close to a beautiful beach! You will think you are in a paradise when you see the beach! The cottage is cozy and wonderfully decorated. We would highly recommend it to all ages!

Bishop House was wonderful. It was perfect for our family and quite a beautiful house and location. Shelburne is an adorable little town with lots of history. Nova Scotia is gorgeous! We loved every minute of our stay here in this tremendous province. We will definitely return.

Description

Lupin Lane is a charming Georgian home in a delightfully private oceanfront setting.

Beautifully restored and maintained, this graceful home features many original architectural details: an elegant main staircase, hardwood floors, fine oak doors and moldings and stained glass windows. All the rooms are spacious, bright and full of character; tastefully furnished with antiques and decorated with the homeowner’s original paintings. There is a quality of casual elegance that is fitting for this comfortable and informal seaside holiday home.

The main floor features a classically Georgian entranceway that is lovely and reflects the age of the house, a living room, media/TV room, and a large kitchen with a quaint backstairs. A sunroom takes in the view of the ocean, while a laundry room and 3-piece bathroom with a bath are close by for convenience. Upstairs are 4 large bedrooms and a second 3-piece bathroom with a shower. Three of the bedrooms have queen size beds, while the 4th has a twin bed.

A large deck off the sunroom overlooking the garden and ocean beyond provides a comfortable outside living space.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. I have been to the cottage and I am quite familiar with the property.

Location

Lupin Lane Cottage is located in the small community of Port La Tour on Nova Scotia’s picturesque Lighthouse Coast. It is about a 10 minute drive to Barrington, 35 minutes to Shelburne, an hour to the ferry at Yarmouth and approximately 2.5 hours to Halifax.

Situated on a spacious oceanfront lot with a large lawn and direct access to over 600 feet of shoreline, Lupin Lane is a private seaside retreat. The beach is cobble stone at the shoreline and has a rocky berm that protects the garden from tidal surges. It is the perfect place to spend a day playing, walking or just simply relaxing listening to the ebb and flow of the tide.

Guestbook

"Thank you for sharing your comfortable home with us. Even on cloudy days, it always felt bright and airy, especially the fantastic sun room. We appreciated the tide clock as going to the beach became the center of our days here.. Such a lovely place!" The Shaw Family, VT, 2009

"We had a wonderful relaxing vacation. The house was just perfect for us. We all loved going to the beach and exploring the area. The kids were fascinated by the wildlife around (deers, rabbits, crabs). For people with small children and who lie warmer waters for swimming we highly recommend the Sand Hills Provincial Park. We will recommend the house to our family and friends and consider coming back! The Renton Family, Belleville, ON, 2009
