Guest TestimonialsAs beautiful place as we've ever seen, and so quiet! (if you don't count wind, flapping wings and chattering squirrels). We loved Sand Hills and Shelburne - Chester was a bit too precious. Nova Scotians were so friendly and outgoing. But most of all we loved the unimpaired abiility here to relax and reflect.
What a fabulous week we've had!!! Wonderful water - such a lovely spacious cozy home with a view to die for. We loved Shelburne and Lockeport too. Very quaint with lovely old houses and so quiet and unspoilt.
We experienced two weeks holidays in a wonderful nice place. The nature, sun, sea, fog, wind wildlife and many other things have fullfilled our days with peace and satisfaction. As a boatbuilder and naval architect, I have been very satisfied with the architecture of this house.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful spot with us - Moose Harbour View Cottage. The kids loved the beaches, rock climbing/hiking, seals at Keji, rabbits in the grass and simply playing in the wide open yard.

© Sandy Lane Enterprises Ltd. DescriptionThe Frances Louis House was designed and built in the early 1970s by a Nova Scotia architect, Keith Graham. The modernist design style of clean lines and light infused spaces is softened by the use of natural materials. Constructed of Red Western cedar with hardwood floors and local fieldstone, the house harmonizes with the natural surroundings. The main living area is comprised of a large fully equipped kitchen, dining room and a sunken living room that looks out on to the deck. A large stone fireplace anchors the living room while floor to ceiling windows flood the space with light. A corridor leads from the main living area to the bedrooms. The master bedroom has a small western facing balcony that overlooks the property, a queen size bed and an ensuite washroom with a dressing area and separate cedar lined shower room that feels like a steam bath. A second bedroom has two twin beds and a view of the garden. Carefully placed skylights bring additional light into the bedrooms. There is an additional washroom with separate vanity and toilet and a “steam bath” shower. Flanking this corridor are two creatively designed rooms: a well-stocked library/media room with a colour television and DVD player and an additional bedroom with a single bed. Two large sliding pocket doors create the fourth wall for these spaces and can be fully opened to expand the room or closed for privacy. Approximately 200 meters from the waterfront, the property is well treed with pines. The beach is almost always deserted. Shallow waters and interesting inlets make for perfect sea kayaking. So whether you are seeking an active holiday or a peaceful break from the everyday, the Frances Louis House is the ideal seaside vacation home. LocationNestled amongst mature pines overlooking Port Joli Bay, Nova Scotia, this beautiful vacation home is an idyllic retreat offering privacy, relaxation, birding, beach walks and beautiful views. A wooded pathway leads down through the property to over 500 feet of secluded beach frontage. It is just 5 kilometers to the spectacular Kejimkujik Seaside Adjunct Provincial Park with its walking trails and abundance of wildlife. For museums, restaurants, shopping, live music and nightlife, Liverpool is about 20 minutes away. The historic town of Shelburne is only 30 minutes away. It’s a 2-hour drive to Halifax International Airport and 1.5 hours to the ferry terminal in Yarmouth.AmenitiesRates
