Reservation Procedure
To reserve your Nova Scotia cottage rental, simply read the information below and complete the vacation rental request form. Once the reservation form has been received, bookings are confirmed via e-mail or telephone within 48 hours. If a requested date is unavailable, alternate dates will be provided.

Rental Etiquette
All the homes represented by Sandy Lane Vacation Rentals are privately owned. The owners have furnished and decorated them to suit their own needs. They are happy to share their home - if it is treated with care and respect.

To help make your vacation more enjoyable, we provide each vacation home with an information package. This package includes information about local attractions, points of interest such as the closest beach, restaurants, grocery stores, and other helpful tourist information.

Check in / Check out
The rental period, unless otherwise stated is Saturday to Saturday. Check in is after 4 p.m. Check out is no later than 10 a.m on the day of departure.

Payment Schedule
A $500 CDN per week non-refundable deposit is payable at the time of booking. Your booking is not confirmed until this deposit has been received. The balance plus the damage deposit is due 90 days prior to arrival. Upon receipt of the balance, you will receive a check-in package including detailed information about the property and area. Payment can be made by American Express, MasterCard or Visa. Please note, there is a $25.00 charge for NSF checks.

Damage Deposit
A damage deposit of $250.00 is due along with any outstanding balance 90 days prior to arrival. The damage deposit will be returned to you within 14 days after your departure, provided there is no damage to the vacation rental beyond normal wear and tear; there is no additional cleaning required and the key has been returned.

Cancellation Policy
Should you wish to cancel your Nova Scotia vacation rental reservation; your cancellation notice must be made in writing - either by fax, email or mail.

For cancellations received between 60 and 90 days prior to your arrival date, 50% of the rental fee is forfeited. For cancellations received between 30 and 60 days prior to your arrival date, 75% of the rental fee is forfeited. 30 days prior to the arrival date,100% of the rental fee is forfeited. In all cases, the damage deposit of $250.00 is refunded in full. Sandy Lane Vacation Rentals will make every effort to re-rent the property, however we cannot guarantee re-rental.

No-shows, late arrival and early departures after arrival are all non-refundable. Sandy Lane Vacation Rentals suggests that you purchase trip cancellation insurance.
