Location
Sea Change Retreat is located at the tip of the Blanche peninsula overlooking Blanche Beach and the Salvages Lighthouse beyond. It is a short stroll from this vacation home to the water’s edge. Approximately 30 km east of the historic Loyalist town of Shelburne and 30 km west of Barrington Passage, the cottage is situated on a scenic oceanfront property with views of and direct access to Blanche Beach.

Escape to the sea and enjoy a welcome change of scene. Savor the salt air, stroll or jog along the beach, or simply relax on the wrap-around deck.

Originally built in 1895, this charming two-bedroom century-plus fisherman's homestead has been completed renovated and restored. The main floor features a fully equipped kitchen and dining area; a comfortable living room with patio doors leading to the deck; a 3-piece bathroom and a handy laundry nook under the stairs. A reading and media room with flat screen TV, VCR and DVD player and an extensive media library of CDs and movies complete the first floor. Upstairs are two bedrooms and a second 3-piece bath. With a balcony, the master bedroom enjoys a fabulous view of the beach and Half Moons Lighthouse, as it is know locally.

This delightful Nova Scotia cottage, with its bright and inviting rooms is an artful fusion of old and new. The modern kitchen with stainless steel appliances blends nicely with the antique table and chairs in the dining area. Original painted pine floors and old wooden doors, marry well with new hand carved trim. Owned by a local lobster fisher woman, this beautiful cottage is tastefully accented with fishing paraphernalia and handcrafted artwork. Rustic bait barrels are reincarnated as bedside tables while a blue whale reveals itself in a piece of driftwood.

Outside a wrap around deck extends the living space and takes full advantage of the peaceful location and spectacular view of the beach. Simple yet elegant, the house is stylish and comfortable. Eclectically furnished with antiques, and maritime treasures. The house is a testament to the owner’s sense of style.

Approximately half way between Barrington Passage and Shelburne with its restaurants, shops and other conveniences, Sea Change Cottage is nicely situated to explore the Evangeline Trail, Lighthouse Route and the South Shore. Yarmouth is an hour away; while Halifax, Lunenburg, Mahone Bay, Peggy’s Cove and Digby are all pleasant day trips.

Number of Bedrooms
There are two bedrooms upstairs - with a queen bed and a double bed. Walk onto the upper balcony from the Master Bedroom (Queen) and enjoy a spectacular view of Blanche Beach and the Salvages Lighthouse.

Number of Bathrooms
There are two 3-piece bathrooms. The downstairs bath is an ergonomic functional space with a shower, toilet and sink. Upstairs, a large claw-foot bath that takes centre stage in the room. With candles and luxurious towels you are sure to feel pampered.
