Guest TestimonialsThank you for a wonderful vacation at Ocean Vista Cottage This was our first visit to this part of beautiful Nova Scotia. We loved Summerville and Carter's beaches. Visit them early in your stay! The Quarterdeck restaurant is superb-excellent food and reasonable prices. Lunenburg, Mahone Bay and Peggy's Cove were worthwhile trips. we had amazing weather (rained only one day during the week.) The cottage was very comfortable and lacked only a fire pit for campfires. We would stay again!
Slateville is a lovely place! We really loved the place and shall come back. It couldn't be better.
What a charming, well-appointed little home is the Captain McLean's Carriage House. I have been so comfortable and content is this historic and lovely setting. It will be very difficult to drive away. Shelburne, especially history-laden is a delight for "land-lubbers" seeking fresh seafood, good (super) accommodations and sightseeing - beaches, museums, period costumes, pleasant faces and helpful info everywhere! Farewell Nova Scotia, and we'll not forget what we've learned about the folks who make this province great, nor those who went before to build its harbour towns.

An Affordable Family VacationConcerned about the economy? Need a holiday? Want more than a “backyard vacation”? Not sure if you can afford it?Look no further! At Sandy Lane Vacation Rentals we offer the perfect solution for a quality family vacation at a price that won’t break the bank. All of our Nova Scotia cottages are privately located, spacious, fully furnished, well equipped, clean and affordable. Most of our vacation homes range from $900 to $1,400 a week. That’s $125 to $200 per night for the whole family … so if you are a family of four its less than $50 a night per person! At that rate, the accommodation cost of your holiday is the least of your worries. It is practically impossible to find comparable rates at holiday resorts or hotels. Vacation spending adds up quickly when you factor in restaurants, entertainment and travel. It is hard to resist the clever marketing gimmicks of glitzy restaurants, expensive entertainment and the souvenir shops that line the streets of resort towns. We do not have this problem in Nova Scotia! A Nova Scotia cottage vacation is not about spending money on entertainment and shopping. It is about enjoying your surroundings and people who are with you. There is a lot to do and much of it is free. Pack a picnic, bring a book and some sand toys and spend the day relaxing on one of our many beautiful beaches where there are no concession stands or tacky touristy shops vying for your dollar. Take a daytrip to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Lunenburg; visit the Lighthouse at Peggy’s Cove. Take a scenic drive along the coast. Hike the Keji trail. Spend a day in Halifax. Go out for dinner, or simply stay at home and enjoy the peace and quiet of the cottage. Watch the seabirds soar overhead, listen to the waves, have a beach bonfire. Reconnect with your family without the distractions of modern life. So take a look at our wide selection of oceanfront houses and consider a Nova Scotia cottage rental for this year’s family holiday. With so many to choose from you are bound to find something to suit your family. See you on the beach! ![]()

Great value for your money! The location of a Blue House is great and close to everything. We were able to go out for day trips and come back in no time. The kids loved, loved the beach and didn't want to leave on our last day. They asked if we could go back next year but for two weeks
