Perfect stay, so peaceful and relaxing
We just had our second stay in this Castaway Ocean Lodge and it was just as good as the first. We bought some friends along the second time, and they enjoyed the cabin and Nova Scotia as much as us. The hot tub is fantastic and we were in it every day, they had upgraded it to a new one second time around, which was even better. There are robes provided in the cabin to make full use of it even when it’s a little chilly in the evenings. It’s so peaceful and quiet, with no neighbours overlooking you, a really good place to chill out. We made use of the fire pit outside and the kayaks to explore. The first time we went there were some seals we spotted in the water nearby while were kayaking. We ended up travelling around in the good weather, up to the wineries in the Annapolis Valley, to Luneburg and beautiful nearby Shelburne (Charlotte Lane Cafe is worth checking out the food is amazing). On the rainy days we enjoyed relaxing in front of the log fire, cooking in the very well equipped kitchen and playing the many board games left for use in the cabin. The cabin is really homey and comfortable; there is everything you could ever need. I can’t wait to go back again.
I had a very enjoyable and peaceful stay. Elm Tree Cottage has all the comforts that one would need for a decent stay. I was there for nearly 3 weeks and enjoyed coming back in the evening to this cosy little cottage. It is nicely decorated, great shower, comfortable bed, good kitchen and good internet. The owners live nearby such that if anything is needed (like losing the key) they are there to provide it. Overall stay at Neptune's Rise was well beyond our expectations. The location was amazing, the house was wonderful, the walks on shore you'll never forget. Lots to keep the little ones busy which we werent expecting at all. Like coloring books, toys, blocks even playdoh etc... which really helped. Everything was clean and perfect. Definitely would stay again. No complaints at all. Perfect for the family.

DescriptionOne of the nicest beach in the Liverpool area, Carter's beach is actually three beaches in one - all the beaches have slightly different orientations, so it is always possible to find a sunny spot out of the wind. The first beach you come to is a gentle crescent beach that is fairly shallow. It is boarded by sand dunes along the back. The next beach is a little rougher - it has a river that runs through it that is tidal. It is much easier to cross at low tide when it is about ankle deep that at high tide when it is waist deep. It is not a problem, but is definitely something to watch. When we went to the beach with our children (1 and 4) we played a lot in this river at low tide as the water was warmer and there were no waves. We love this beach.John and I went to Carter's beach on Canada Day in 2001. We were amazed. It looked like we had traveled thousands of miles to the Caribbean - the sand was white and the water turquoise. The illusion was broken when we dipped our toes into the ocean and realized that yes we were still in Canada! The water was not freezing, but it definitely was not tropical!
