Guest Testimonials Perfect House, Perfect Place
Our second time at Sanderling Beach House, and we couldn't dream for a better place. We love Nova Scotia for the untouched nature, and unspoiled beaches, lakes, and forest, but high standard accommodations are some times hard to find. Sanderling beach house is the best place we could have: charming, on the edge of the Ocean, tasteful, functional, very well appointed, clean. A wonderful feeling of home pervades the house. The kitchen is fully equipped, ready for baking, cooking, BBQing, etc. The 3 bedrooms are large, with comfy beds. The beach is long with fine silver sand, and hardly anybody is ever around. Our children and ourselves spent wonderful days playing and swimming (yes, swimming!). The night skies are among the most beautiful and starry in the whole planet! UNESCO's Starlight Foundation declared the area part of North America's first Starlight Preserve, on top of the designation as a protected biosphere! Harbour Tide House was beautiful, very accurate to the description if not better in person! Location is perfect, big garden and lovely view. Very close to Carter's beach. Would recommend for sure! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Summerset Cottage is lovely and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Will miss the beautiful view from the back deck!
We arrive here after a long drive. Francis Louis House is lovely and romantic; made us feel extremely happy and we rested very quickly before running down to the beach. When we got to the water, we were amazed that the sand actually is white! We looked around and we knew that we had found the perfect vacation spot. A little into our visit we wondered why people were crazy about the Bahamas and no so fanatic about Canada's hidden paradise. For the last three nights, we made bonfires and cooked our dinners on the beach. The coals looked like the sky's stars and the sound of the waves made it seem too good to be true. We really enjoyed our stay.

Breakfasts are served inside, but you can take your coffee outside to enjoy on the deck. Depending on the tide, the lighthouse may be completely surrounded by water or accessible along the sand spit. Send the kids out to play on the beach and enjoy a moment of peace.The closest cottages to this breakfast are: Ocean's Tranquility Guest House in Sandy Point and Captain McLean's Carriage House, Above Studio 14, Rose Gate Cottage in the town of Shelburne. OtherJohn, the breakfast aficionado loves the Sandy Point breakfast. I would happily sleep in on a Saturday morning, but on a Sandy Point Breakfast morning, I am "encouraged" to get up and get going!
