It is so lovely and the surroundings are absolutely gorgeous. We want to thank you for allowing us the opportunity to use your home this past week. We did the lighthouse tour from Yarmouth to Lockeport. We did the whale watching tour and saw 2 humpback whales and one Minke.
Our weekend at the cottage was awesome! We found the cottage easily and were thrilled with the roomy interior and modern decor. The cottage was immaculate - clean, fresh and fully stocked with everything we needed to enjoy a few days at the beach. I hope to plan another stay at Summerset Cottage soon. Thank you!
Our stay at Summerset Cottage was great. The place was brand new, clean, and beautifully finished. It was incredibly comfortable and the nearby beach was fun to walk on and look for seashells.
Perfect House, Perfect Place
Our second time at Sanderling Beach House, and we couldn't dream for a better place. We love Nova Scotia for the untouched nature, and unspoiled beaches, lakes, and forest, but high standard accommodations are some times hard to find. Sanderling beach house is the best place we could have: charming, on the edge of the Ocean, tasteful, functional, very well appointed, clean. A wonderful feeling of home pervades the house. The kitchen is fully equipped, ready for baking, cooking, BBQing, etc. The 3 bedrooms are large, with comfy beds. The beach is long with fine silver sand, and hardly anybody is ever around. Our children and ourselves spent wonderful days playing and swimming (yes, swimming!). The night skies are among the most beautiful and starry in the whole planet! UNESCO's Starlight Foundation declared the area part of North America's first Starlight Preserve, on top of the designation as a protected biosphere! |
Sandy Point Lighthouse BeachDescriptionThe Sandy Point Lighthouse Beach is a tidal beach that grows in size as the tide ebbs. At low tide a glistening stretch of golden sand links the Sandy Point Lighthouse to the shoreline. The shallow waters, rock pools and proximity to the Sandy Point Community Centre (for snacks and washrooms) makes this a very popular beach with local families. Our sons, love it there - it is always their first choice. For them there are sand castles to build, seashells, starfish and other treasures to be found. And the fact that it is an 8-minute drive from the center of Shelburne makes it very convenient.
