 Fairytale Vacation
Staying at Castaway Ocean Lodge was a fairy tale experience. The spacious luxurious log cabin has all the charm of a Hans Christian Anderson storybook tale with its wide view of the sea. A short stroll downhill brings you to another dreamy vista of islands rising from the mist. We never wanted to leave and mostly just made short trips to buy seafood for the grill and fire pit. The oceanfront kitchen is beautiful and thoughtfully stocked. The hot tub and bath towels were a treat. By far the most magical, romantic and private place we’ve ever rented anywhere.

What a beautiful spot for a vacation! We had a fantastic time. Our two year old loved the yard and walking down to the fishing boat. We really enjoyed the relaxing porch and ocean view. That the house was so clean really made it pleasant, too. Thanks to your fantastic, cleaning staff. The blueberries made yummie muffins.

We have spent a wonderful 2 weeks in this gorgeous cottage. It is wonderfully well equipped. We brought a lot of things we didn't even need. The location is great; it was so quiet and so close to many wonderful beaches! We found HUNDREDS of sand dollars at Carter's beach; rode the waves at White Point and walked the beaufiful mile long summerville beach. Wow! I will miss the ocean so much. I would like to point out that Sandy Lane Vacations are awesome! When help is needed such as the phones are down after a really bad storm, they're there for you! We will be back.

  Home sweet Home
This is a wonderful house on a wonderful North Atlantic beach. Sanderling Beach House is just perfect, thousand times better than the pictures can show. Spotlessly clean, well built, well equipped, very spacious, full of taste. Right on the beach yet very private, as the beach is hardly shared with anybody else, if not for the 8 sandpipers which are among the very few left in Canada, the seagulls, and the sight of the seals. We were so lucky to have perfectly dark night with millions of stars, shooting stars, clear water, and beach fires. And yes there are bugs, and they sting you, but this is a little price to pay for the wilderness of untouched beauty.

Description

In the spring of 1783, 3000 United Empire Loyalists escaped the American Revolution and settled on the shores of Shelburne Harbour. With the promise of free land, tools and provisions, and the protection of the British Crown, four hundred families associated to form a town of Shelburne.

Founders Days Festival celebrates our history and heritage.  Events include a Regimental Re-Enactment, Eighteenth Century Dances, canoe jousting and Dory races; a Yacht Regatta, a "Parade of Lights" and a Coastal Oldies Car Show. There are fireworks, face painting and of course, lots of toe tapping music.
