It's the third time I've stayed in this snug little house on its very own bay. Ragged Island Retreat is like a ship on the sandy, tidal lake -- a short kayak trip from the crashing ocean beach at Hemeons Head, and along a strip of land protected by the Nature Conservancy. I could watch the changing waters, and birds overhead, all day. Cool mists for evening walks and sun-heated swimming in the deep salt water pools of the "lake" are both amazing. This area is so beautiful -- rural and wild, yet a short drive from the town of Lockeport and the beautiful harbor of Shelburne, and the long sand beach at Louis Head. Amazing week - all of the comforts of home in a beautiful setting
From the moment we arrived and saw the we knew our one week stay here would be memorable. Our two children lov Castaway Ocean Lodgeed the hot tub, the board games, exploring the beach and looking at birds and fishing boats in the bay with the binoculars. We loved the clean and comfortable space, the fully stocked kitchen (it even has sharp knives - something I've never seen in a rental before!), the views, the comfortable beds, the deck chairs and so much more. Highly recommend! Private with beautiful views and Red Head Retreat is a lovely place to relax. Super tranquil!
