Guest Testimonials

The Francis Louis House was great! We drove up to Durham Lane and down to what's known as the
old wharf. We took a lovely walk along that fabulous beach-left toward the mouth of the harbor. A great place to visit at low tide. Afterwards we rode down to the end of St. Catherine's River Road, stopping to view the marsh before the big curve near the end of the road. We saw an adult bald eagle atop one of the scraggly tall spruces!

Thank you for sharing your beautiful spot with us - Moose Harbour View Cottage.  The kids loved the beaches, rock climbing/hiking, seals at Keji, rabbits in the grass and simply playing in the wide open yard.

We were 2 seniors, 1 adult, 1 child, staying three nights at Neptune’s Rise. The cottage is clean, modern, perfect amount of space for us. The upper level has a lovely kitchen, half bath and lounging area. There is a little perfect deck off of the kitchen to watch the ocean. Walking down a little path takes you to a pebbly beach to explore. We did not go into the ocean, but you certainly can. We saw deer and loads of heron.

There are two beaches we went to nearby: Cresent and Roseway. They were spectacular. Everything in Shelburne was closed tight due to Covid restrictions, but we shopped at Sobeys and enjoyed ice cream at Mo’s, which was fun.

The lower level of the cottage has two nice sized bedrooms and a huge bathroom. Loads of towels and comfy linens. There is a single trundle bed under the stairs. The blinds in both bedrooms did not keep the early sunrise out, so my daughter was early to rise, but that’s a normal summer issue. One bedroom only had a single window that opened so that could get quite warm. Bring a fan.

The breeze off of the ocean was amazing. There was loads of fun crafts and games. The house was comfortable, very private and a perfect getaway for us. We did not use the paddle boards as I could not find ankle straps for them. There was a big drawer of life jackets which was nice.

Highly recommended.

Thank you for making your wonderful beach house available to us. Both of us work in fairly high stress jobs and were looking for an extra-relaxing locale for a break. The cottage, setting and local places and people provided this behond our hopes.

Hunt's Point Beach

Hunts Point beach with a fishing wharf
Nestled in a protected cove, Hunts Point Beach is a lovely safe beach.
A gorgeous sunny day at Hunts Point Beach.
Sam enjoys a warm Fall afternoon of exploring on the beach.

Description

Hunts Point Beach is a small crescent shaped beach tucked into a protective cove. At one end is the Hunt’s Point wharf with its lobster fishing boats and ram shacked lobster bait shacks. As a family we spent a lovely day on Hunt’s Point beach, building sand castles, paddling and investigating the rock pools. It is a great beach for young children. Moose Harbour View Cottageand the Samuel Fairbanks House are close by.
