Guest Testimonials

We fell in love with the ocean and the family of seals. This is a perfect spot to get away and relax. Despite the lengthy drive, we highly recommend going whale watching on Brier Island in the Zodiacs. Francis Louis House is a very cozy and comfortable cottage. We would love to retire here. Thank you for letting us stay here!

Wanted to let you know that we enjoyed the soft sheets at night after our busy days at the beaches.  We also loved playing your board games after catching crabs in the bay.  The crabs really enjoyed our leftover meat and created some entertainment for the kids while we did the dishes.  We enjoyed the full moon and the low tides. We really enjoyed our stay.

We reserved Francis Louis House almost a year ago as a place to hold our wedding. We rented it blindly from the internet with only a few pictures. Once we arrived, we quickly realized that the pictures certainly did not do this place justice. WE LOVE THIS HOUSE!

This was our first visit to Nova Scotia and Castaway Ocean Lodge. It went beyond our wildest dreams! Our first morning we saw a whale in the bay which made it more special. We used the kayaks and boat; did some walking and it was just Fab! We shall be back again 1 week just isn't long enough. We recommend going whale watching at riverton; in Zodiac. We saw a right whale, which was just excellant! Thanks

Roseway Beach is a beautiful, often deserted, white sandy beach. At least a kilometer in length, the beach is perfect for a quiet walk. A river meets the ocean at this beach creating an ever-changing landscape. The freshwater river warms up quickly during the heat of the day and is perfect for paddling and swimming. The beach is about 25 minutes from Shelburne.
