Guest Testimonials

Amazing week - all of the comforts of home in a beautiful setting
From the moment we arrived and saw the we knew our one week stay here would be memorable. Our two children lov Castaway Ocean Lodgeed the hot tub, the board games, exploring the beach and looking at birds and fishing boats in the bay with the binoculars. We loved the clean and comfortable space, the fully stocked kitchen (it even has sharp knives - something I've never seen in a rental before!), the views, the comfortable beds, the deck chairs and so much more. Highly recommend!

We had such a lovely time in Nova Scotia. It was everything we hoped it would be. Our children enjoyed the challenge of our own rocky beach. We even found a few intact sea urchins before the seagull smashed them. Other highlights of our visit were the "Trot in Time ride" through Lunenberg, Carter's Beach and Halifax. Thank you Helen and John so much for your part in our great vacation.

This was our 10th Wedding anniversary and it was great. Castaway Ocean Lodge is such a beautiful log cabin. The view was wonderful also! We took out the Kayaks on Saturday; it was great! The lodge was just spectacular, so new and comfy. The hot tub was so relaxing. We will return with more of our family because it's a great lodge and property. Thanks.

Nova Scotia was an amazing place for our honeymoon. We really enjoyed our stay here and we will definitely be back. Kayaking was great and the tranquility was just what we needed.

Fall Town Wide Yard & Sidewalk Sale

Looking for treasures at the Shelburne Town Wide Yard Sale
I just could not resist that little Santa. So, he came home with me!

I love a good yard sale.  I think it must be the Antiques Road Show that keeps me going year after year.  I keep thinking of those people who buy a little ugly item for $5.00 only to find out it is the work of a famous potter/painter/craftsman and it is worth $5,000!

Of course that has never actually happened to me!  Here's to hoping that this will be my lucky year.
