We travelled to the Sanderling Beach House from Ontario in August. What an amazing week! The house was even more spacious than it appeared in the photos, with a beautiful beach theme running throughout. The kitchen is extremely well equipped, and the layout provides a beautiful view of the beach from just about every spot in the house. The white sand beach is gorgeous, clean and so quiet. It almost felt like we were on a private beach. We would 100% recommend this property to anyone considering it. The fact that we had three teenagers who never once missed being "connected" due to lack of WiFi or television speaks volumes!! Thank you John and Helen. We have enjoyed a very relaxing week in Moose Harbour Cottage. It was a great base for us to explore Nova Scotia and we have got lots of good memiories and photos to take home with us. You have managed to make our first trip to Canada amazing and we are already planning when we might be able to come back.

We fell in love with the area immediately! Sanderling Beach House has every convenience anyone could need for a perfect stay...and then some! The kitchen is fully equipped with small appliances, specialty utensils, cookware and dinnerware. There is plenty of room to accommodate more than 4 people at mealtime, sitting around the large centre island or at the dining/kitchen table. The rooms are comfortably equipped with quilts and extra blankets, if needed. We especially liked being able to BBQ at the house in the screened-in sunroom. There are plenty of Muskoka chairs to sit and laze around the deck or down at the beach. The white sand beach is magnificent! We walked it many times each day and felt like it was our own private beach. Very few people venture down to this area of beach from the public beach area, even though it is the best, in my opinion. It has the best view, clearest water, and no rocks. The tide comes in and out frequently so there were many sandbars for us to walk on and large ‘puddles’ to wade in. The water was quite cold, so we did not spend a lot of time in the ocean itself…we preferred the sun-warmed ‘puddles’ that were formed by the tide. (There were many jellyfish in the area, as well.) We thoroughly enjoyed the Beach House and were able to truly relax! We did boost our data plan so that family members could access email, etc., and then accessed Wi-fi when we headed into town, for groceries, etc. It was nice not feeling the need to be connected on our vacation. Thank you for the excellent accommodations! The cottage is exactly what the doctor. ordered! Seals, herons, deer, stars ... and did I mention stars? We saw a hawk looking for a snack. It's been quite a week. What a great website find!

DescriptionThis newly built cabin combines the efficiency of modern design with the charm and character of a traditional log home. Constructed from large honey brown logs, and featuring an open-concept kitchen, living / dining room and two bedrooms, the atmosphere is both spacious and warm. Both bedrooms have patio doors that open up onto the deck. The bedrooms have queen size beds; log bedside tables and plenty of closet space. The cabin comes equipped with a four-piece bath.At the heart of this Nova Scotia log home has a floor to ceiling field stone, wood-burning fireplace. Two sets of sliding patio doors lead out from the living room onto a large wooden deck that spans the length and breadth of the cabin and takes full advantage of its beautiful oceanfront view. Patio furniture and propane BBQ complete the picture and make for comfortable outdoor living. Walk down from the deck, soak in the hot tub and roast marshmallows over the open fire in the fire pit.
