View from Bright View Cottage across the bay and gorgeous sunsets as promised. Best thing to be able to lie in bed and see the ocean! Cottage comfortable and well provisioned with everything you might need. Instructions clear and detailed and the cottage binder contained lots of helpful local information. Location is very private and access to beach would be difficult to impossible for anyone with mobility issues.
We fell in love with the ocean and the family of seals. This is a perfect spot to get away and relax. Despite the lengthy drive, we highly recommend going whale watching on Brier Island in the Zodiacs. Francis Louis House is a very cozy and comfortable cottage. We would love to retire here. Thank you for letting us stay here!
Great value for your money! The location of the cottage is great and close to everything. We were able to go out for day trips and come back in no time. The kids loved, loved the beach and didn't want to leave on our last day. They asked if we could go back next year but for two weeks
We both LOVE Nova Scotia! This cottage was absolutely the nicest we have stayed in during our three summers here. Incredible view-always interesting sights, especially the seals. Your house had everything we needed and is the perfect size. Our 2 Golden Retrievers and 1 Border Collie had a ball playing in the water out front. They and we vote to return. Thanks for allowing us to bring the dogs.

Carters BeachDescriptionOne of the nicest beach in the Liverpool area, Carter's beach is actually three beaches in one - all the beaches have slightly different orientations, so it is always possible to find a sunny spot out of the wind. The first beach you come to is a gentle crescent beach that is fairly shallow. It is boarded by sand dunes along the back. The next beach is a little rougher - it has a river that runs through it that is tidal. It is much easier to cross at low tide when it is about ankle deep that at high tide when it is waist deep. It is not a problem, but is definitely something to watch. When we went to the beach with our children (1 and 4) we played a lot in this river at low tide as the water was warmer and there were no waves. We love this beach.John and I went to Carter's beach on Canada Day in 2001. We were amazed. It looked like we had traveled thousands of miles to the Caribbean - the sand was white and the water turquoise. The illusion was broken when we dipped our toes into the ocean and realized that yes we were still in Canada! The water was not freezing, but it definitely was not tropical! LocationSea Star Cottage and Harbour Tide House in Port Mouton are the closest cottages to this beach.AddressPort Mouton, NSGoogle Map |
