Guest Testimonials

Couldn't be more perfect!
Red Head Retreat met all my needs: Pet friendly, On the ocean. Great expansive view from the cottage of the ocean. Old house charm with updated modern conveniences. Clean. Comfortable beds. Wood fireplace for cozy atmosphere. Comfortable distance to respectful neighbours. Off the beaten track. Just what I imagined in my mind's eye. Upon arrival, I jumped for joy - it simply could not have been more perfect!

A fantastic place! The cottage is a great location for walking or touring. The house and the views surpassed our expectations. Very friendly people. We'll be back.

This is our first time to Nova Scotia but not to Canada. We brought our parents with us for a relaxing week; it was and it was so much, much more! Thank you for sharing the Castaway Ocean Lodge with us! It will be a memory that will last a lifetime.

Had a great time!  A few blueberries were out and tasty.  Loved the cottage and its hominess. Carter's Beach felt like being down south.  My 2 year old daughter loved running around in the garden and playing on the beach.  Fireplace was cozy!
